NHRC at the Saucony 10k, Shoreditch

A couple of weekends ago, three Notting Hill Running Club members laced up and headed east to take part in the Saucony 10k in Shoreditch, a vibrant, fast-paced race through one of London’s most eclectic neighbourhoods. The event, providing electric atmosphere and an urban course, drew runners from across the city, combining community spirit, competition, and post-race celebrations in true Shoreditch style.

The 10k is part of Saucony’s London running series, celebrating both performance and participation. The route winds through the creative heart of East London, past colourful street art, lively cafés, and cheering crowds, a true showcase of what makes running in London so special.

Our Runners

Three NHRC athletes proudly represented the club on the day:

  • Ben Cocker – 36:03

  • James Nickless-Allen – 44:02

  • Lewis Busby – 44:02

Ben led the charge with a fantastic sub-37 finish, while James and Lewis crossed the line together, both clocking a solid 44:02. It was a brilliant morning out, with great conditions, supportive spectators, and that familiar sense of camaraderie that defines every NHRC outing.

What’s Next for NHRC

The momentum doesn’t stop there. The NHRC team are now turning their attention to the Fulham 10k in November, another popular London race known for its scenic riverside route and fast times, before heading abroad in December for the Lake Como Half Marathon in Italy. With the stunning alpine backdrop and lakeside roads, it’s sure to be an unforgettable experience to round off the year.

Community and Momentum

Events like the Saucony 10k highlight what Notting Hill Running Club is all about, coming together to challenge ourselves, support one another, and enjoy every step of the journey. Whether it’s a local 5k, a marathon, or a destination race abroad, our runners continue to bring enthusiasm and team spirit wherever they go.

A huge congratulations to Ben, James, and Lewis for representing NHRC with pride and determination. Here’s to more races, more personal bests, and more miles shared with friends.
